Nominated (at the time of the interview - she may already be a winner by the time you listen to this...) for multiple Maple Blues Awards, Cécile Doo-Kingué brings flecks of world music, afro rhythms and much more into her dynamic stylings.

That might be due to the wide world she's experienced - born in New York City, first generation roots in Cameroon, time spent in the U.S. and France - settled (for now) in Montreal - it all blends into her sound.

I spoke with her ahead of early 2016 tour dates, and in-between the release of Part 1 & Part 2 of a planned trilogy that really explores her world of blues and roots music.
