With her new and personal album "small matters of life and death", Ottawa-based songwriter explores a wide range of emotions, and pays special attention to family new and old. It makes for compelling listening.
At the time of this phone interview, she was about a week away from heading to Alberta for an appearance at The Calgary Folk Club, to promote this album, and the style she describes as torch folk.
Fans of Blue Rodeo may even pick out a very distinct voice on one of the songs on the CD...
