For the co-founder of Newfoundland's enormously successful pop roots act Great Big Sea, the only way to survive a hurricane of wrong was to walk away from the band he helped launch, get honest with himself, and seek help.

Since he came to terms with his past (and the direction his present was leading at the time), he's rediscovered what made him want to be a musician in the first place. And he has some support in staying grounded from some pretty impressive friends.

In a frank and open conversation, McCann shares his enthusiasm for life with sobriety, dealing with his past, and shares the nervous excitement of a new album and tour.
