Sarah MacDougall is a singer/songwriter that bends and blurs any borders between roots, folk, pop and more.

At times, she is reminiscent of '80's icons such as Annie Lennox or Kate Bush, then she slides just as easily into an atmospheric tribute to her hometown - referring to a haunting and affecting Swedish-sung track on her new album Grand Canyon.

This interview was recorded between her nomination for Contemporary Singer Of The Year at the 11th annual Canadian Folk Music Awards, and an appearance at The Calgary Folk Club along with The Tequila Mockingbird Orchestra.
