The son of church musicians, Billy Crockett has segued from a career in Christian music, to being recently listed as "one of 10 new country artists you need to know" in a Rolling Stone Magazine feature.
In our conversation, he chats about the business of music, the structure of sounding like a singer/songwriter even with a full band backing up a recording, and learning to produce music from RCA Records legend Bill Porter (Elvis Presley, Diana Ross, Roy Orbison and many more).
On top of all that, Billy and his wife Dodee have hosted countless legendary artists in performances at their Blue Rock Artist Ranch and Studio, an official Folk Alliance house concert site.
