I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that there will soon be a time where Nancy Laberge is cross-referenced as "Canada's Mary Gauthier", although her original work already stands tall in and of itself.

A songwriter of captivating roots, folk and country music, Laberge chats in this interview about some of her influences, some of her Calgary musical colleagues, and how some of her songs came to be.

All of those diverse threads come together to make an impressive whole cloth both in her recording, and (based on some live music videos) her stage performances.

I also took the liberty of creatively editing in a pre-interview conversation with respect to her name's spelling and pronunciation, it was just too warm and funny to leave out!
